Itinerary 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora Desert
Your 2 days desert adventure begins early in the morning as you leave Marrakech and travel through the winding roads of the High Atlas Mountains. Admire panoramic views, Berber stone houses, and terraced fields as you make your way across the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in Morocco. The first major stop is the iconic Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient architecture and famous movie scenes. After exploring the ksar, continue toward Ouarzazate, where traditional mud-brick kasbahs and film studios represent Morocco’s cinematic history.
From here, the landscape changes as you drive south across the Anti-Atlas, descending into the Draa Valley, one of the longest and most beautiful valleys in the country. Lined with palm groves, old kasbahs, and small villages, the Draa Valley offers a peaceful contrast to the desert.
